False Accusations Of Sexual Assault
A Summary from Blake & Associates Law Firm
By Williams Law Group, LLC
According to a study conducted in 2010, somewhere between 2% and 10% of all Sexual Assault allegations are false. That may seem like a small number, but it can be devastating for someone who is falsely accused for the simple reason that people have a tendency to believe the worst. An allegation alone is enough many times to ruin marriages, cause loss of jobs, and mar someone's character for years to come.
NOTE TO READER: The article linked to is titled "False Accusations of Child Abuse" and, while many of the points made do relate to that, it should be more accurately titled "False Accusations of Sexual Assault", which is why we chose to use it.
