Court rulings in New Jersey hold that parents are not exempt from college-related expenses even after divorce. The expenses can include everything from tuition and room and board to books and whatever mandatory fees are due. In determining the amount of contribution, the court will analyze the family dynamic of each of the parents as well as their financial situation and ability to pay.
